Due
to the price of fuel the Garipay House will be closed for the winter
starting November 1. The Society will still be functioning
and
the room in the Municipal Building will still be available for
researching. The Garipay House will be checked weekly, and if
anything there is needed it can be brought out with adequate notice.
It
is hoped this will be a wise use of our resources and will not
inconvenience folks too much. Any questions, concerns, etc.
should be directed to Pat Stark at 295-3077 M-F 9-4
Honor
Roll
- We have established an Honor Roll as a way to
permanently honor
those who have had a lasting positive influence on the town
and
it's citizens, particularly regarding our history. Applications for
admission to this list can be submitted to the Board of Directors by
any member of the Society and will be approved by the board. A brief
biography of the honoree will be sought and published in our
Newsletter. The submissions will be permanently kept in a book, and the
name entered into a 'traveling' book which will be at all meetings and
open house events.
